Vets Ready2Work

The Vets Ready2WorkTM program honors our service disabled veterans by helping them to find and keep community jobs.

Many veterans with hidden service connected disabilities like traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) require significant support to find and sustain jobs in the community, especially when they are struggling to readjust to civilian life, find and retain housing and reconnect with their families. Linden’s Vets Ready2WorkTM program offers a compassionate response to the enormous unmet need for specialized employment services for this population at no cost to the veteran.

Linden’s Veteran Employment Specialist, a veteran with a service connected disability, works with each veteran to identify areas of strength and career interests, and works with employers in the community to find appropriate jobs that can provide specialized accommodations if necessary.  In the program’s first year, Vets Ready2WorkTM  program has signed 41 veterans and found community jobs for 11.

Eligible participants must have proof of their veterans status and have a documented disability.  For more information, contact the Vets Ready2WorkTM  program director at 703-521-4441 or VetsReady2Work@Linden.org.

“I believe in the dignity of work and that everyone who wants to work should have that opportunity, which is why I devote so much time and energy to Linden. In these tough economic times, when the competition for every job is greater, providing jobs for people with disabilities is a very important mission.”
